Translating the political earnings of the overseas Longshore and Warehouse Union, Nakamura performed a vital role—unpublicized—in devising arguably the main innovative application of laws in an American nation: common overall healthiness care, transitority incapacity coverage, collective bargaining rights for public employees, and more—all of which without end replaced the Hawai‘i worker’s landscape.
